Quarterly report Q2 2026 – AI:spire and pathways to employment

Connecting Jobs is an initiative that helps newly arrived immigrants and asylum seekers find their place in the Swedish labour market, while Swedish companies gain access to new employees with drive and skills. With support from the European Union through the asylum, migration and integration fund (AMIF), we work to create real job opportunities and build bridges between employers and candidates. With support from Länsstyrelsen, we provide asylum seekers with tools, coaching and guidance to prepare them to take the step into the Swedish labour market.

Connecting Jobs is the new name for the Ukrainian Professional Support Center, which was launched in May 2022. Since then, we have enabled 992 employment contracts, 268 of which have been concluded since the start of the AMIF project in April 2025.

Over the past quarter, our primary focus has been AI:spire, a 12 week AI upskilling program launching in September. Together with Accenture and Microsoft, we have been working to engage candidates and partners ahead of the program’s launch. The goal is to strengthen participants’ AI skills while contributing to a more inclusive tech sector in Sweden.

Throughout the quarter, we have highlighted AI:spire in several key forums. We participated in Women in Tech and Järvaveckan, where we met with companies, job seekers and other stakeholders to discuss the future skills needed in the labour market and how more people can gain access to the opportunities created by technological development.

During Almedalen, we also hosted a roundtable discussion with Sweden’s Minister for Employment, the Director General of the Swedish Public Employment Service, as well as representatives from the business community and civil society. The discussion focused on how cross sector collaboration can strengthen workforce development and create more pathways into employment.

We are also approaching an important milestone in the Connecting Jobs initiative. Soon, 1,000 people will have secured employment through our efforts, a result of the long term collaboration between the private sector, the public sector and civil society.

Looking ahead to the next quarter, we are excited to launch AI:spire while continuing to prepare for the autumn’s activities. Together with Ambea, we will host several recruitment events in Stockholm, where the company aims to hire 100 people. We are also preparing smaller recruitment events in Malmö and Gothenburg, creating opportunities for job seekers and employers to connect.
