Quarterly report Q1 2026 – A successful job fair and a focus on AI

Connecting Jobs is an initiative that helps newly arrived immigrants and asylum seekers find their place in the Swedish labour market, while Swedish companies gain access to new employees with drive and skills. With support from the European Union through the asylum, migration and integration fund (AMIF), we work to create real job opportunities and build bridges between employers and candidates. With support from Länsstyrelsen, we provide asylum seekers with tools, coaching and guidance to prepare them to take the step into the Swedish labour market.

Connecting Jobs is the new name for the Ukrainian Professional Support Center, which was launched in May 2022. Since then, we have enabled 879 employment contracts, 155 of which have been concluded since the start of the AMIF project in April 2025.

During the fourth quarter, Connecting Jobs has continued its work together with employers in sectors with labour shortages. Together with Ambea, 25 participants have graduated as assistant nurses after two years of combined studies and work within the framework of Ambea’s fast‑track programme, an initiative in collaboration with Beredskapslyftet & Connecting Jobs.

We opened the event with a panel discussion featuring representatives from politics, business, and public authorities, moderated by Tilde De Paula Eby. Among other topics, the discussion focused on how to make better use of the skills of newcomers at a time when unemployment is high, while employers are still struggling to find the right candidates. It was a valuable conversation where all participants shared their perspectives on challenges and possible solutions.

During the past quarter, we have also been working on AI:spire, a 12-week upskilling program focused on AI. The initiative is driven in collaboration with Accenture, Microsoft, and Connecting Jobs, with the aim of mobilizing the private sector around increased AI competence while also contributing to a more inclusive tech sector in Sweden. Our next step is the launch of the program. If you would like to be part of this work going forward, you are very welcome to get in touch.
